Vanessa began her work as the President of Live to Love Hong Kong and Live
to Love Asia in 2009. Her interest in the Himalayans began ten years ago when
she met the Gyalwang Drukpa, founder of Live to Love International, while he
was building the Druk White Lotus School in Ladakh.
The mission of the Druk White Lotus School is to provide an effective modern
education that uses current technology while also maintaining traditional values
and culture – an unprecedented project for the Ladakh region. According to
Vanessa,
“The school couples cutting-edge solutions with ancient philosophies
to tackle current environmental issues and address educational needs.”
In 2010, Vanessa brought her then three-year-old daughter, Amelia, to Ladakh
where they broke the Guinness World Record by planting nearly 100,000 trees
with 100,000 people from various religious backgrounds within 30 minutes.
As the President of Live to Love, Vanessa has focused on helping to build
schools and medical clinics across the Himalayas. The organisation also runs
regular and ad hoc Eye and Dental Clinics in which our many SPCC medical
alumni are welcome to participate.

Christmas Donation Drive
Christmas is a time for celebration. It is also a time for us to
give. A donation drive in support of the Hong Kong Society for
the Protection of Children (HKSPC) was held at the SPCCAA
Happy Hour Drinks on 12 December 2014. We collected two
big boxes of brand-new storybooks and children’s stationery
as well as some cash donation. Thanks to the generosity of all
alumni who attended this event, we brought joy and warmth to
the children in need during the festive season.
HKSPC is one of the oldest charitable children’s organisations
in Hong Kong. It currently operates 27 units serving children
from birth to 16 years old and their families, and caters for the
needs of single or working parents, low-income families, new
immigrants, ethnic minority families as well as families receiving
Comprehensive Social Security Assistance.
We would like to extend our special thanks to alumna Ms
Jacqueline Chow (1993) for coordinating with HKSPC.
Jacqueline is the Fundraising Chairlady of HKSPC.
