SPCCAA 23
The committee gathered months ahead in preparation and
the “SPCC at the Movies” theme was chosen given it should
be familiar to most people and could also bring out the innate
acting talent of our fellow alumni.
“Lights, Camera, Action!”
Despite a road blockade outside the venue, the cocktail area
was already packed with people and filled with laughter as old
friends met one another before the dinner bell rang. Guests
were then ushered into the Island Ballroom like movie stars on
the red carpet at The Oscars. Rows of chandeliers brightened
up the new venue with elegant Art Deco-inspired table settings.
With cinematic themed banners everywhere, the spotlights, the
animated movie clip, music and popcorn-themed centrepiece,
the ballroom was transformed into a movie theatre as
Samantha Wong (1989) and Ronald Kwok (1992), our Masters
of Ceremony, made their entrance on stage. It was a night of
glamour as our guests enjoyed catching up with friends and
could hardly stop socialising.
