SPCC Open Days 2015
Joanna Lee (1997)
2015 marked the Centenary Celebration of St. Paul’s Co-
educational College. Having studied in SPCC for 13 years, I
was thrilled to attend the Open Days of my alma mater and
help out at the Alumni Association booth.
It was a drizzly Sunday when I arrived at the secondary school
campus. The gloomy weather did not seem to affect the
crowd. The school was packed with alumni, parents, students,
children and teachers. Everyone was busy reminiscing about
the nostalgic memories, whilst the youngsters, like my two-
year-old son, thoroughly indulged themselves in different
booths where prizes were won. The humid weather was
probably a blessing in disguise – all umbrellas were sold out
within hours in the morning!
The primary school Open Days were equally fabulous and full
of joy. On the Sunday which I attended, the school was filled
with colourful balloons, exquisite artwork on display and the
harmony of instrumental music, singing and laughter. The
aroma of hot dogs and dim sum wafted through the canteen
where the souvenir booths were located. Visitors and students
could purchase centenary souvenirs while watching the live
broadcast of the performances taking place in the school hall
on the projector screen.
At the Open Days, we could see families with three or even
four generations of St. Paulians and it was indeed very
touching and memorable for me to witness St. Paul’s tradition,
heritage, and our school motto of “faith, hope and love”
thriving through generations.
